Catholic rituals? What do they?
Recently I attended a funeral and the night before the funeral will be attended what Catholics call "rosary service. Now the service is in Italian, so couldnt understand much, but I bits is lifted disturbed me. I think they are prayed to the dead person into heaven. It is correct? Can anyone explain this of me and why Catholics continue to pray for the dead
Rosary is very ancient prayer addressed to the Virgin Mary. The reason Catholics pray to her that she is in heaven with Christ, her son (who is our Lord and our God). In her prayer, we ask her to intercede for us before his son. All Prayer is ultimately addressed to God. But we can address him directly or Address it through the intercession of the saint (As Mary). A saint is a friend of God and a friend and disciple of Christ. God likes us to go to him through his friends. It allows men and women to participate in salvation the world to pray for one another. This is reality that the Catholic Church called "communion the saints. "All Saints are in communion (fellowship) with one another because they are one in Christ, our Lord. Christ Himself prayed to His Father, we can be united (one) both he and his father are one. We really can pray for the dead, because this way we ask our Lord (directly or through a saint) to help that person in their final stage of purification. Some people go directly in heaven, but many are first subject the final stage of purification, known as purgatory. The Christian church has always believed and taught that. This is not new doctrine. What is new is the rejection of this doctrine in Modern Times (in particular, as the "Reformation"). Purgatory it exists to see God, man must be clean. But cleanliness is not complete is something many of us get in this life here on earth. God does not want to condemn these people forever in Hell, as a wonderful demonstration of His Infinite Mercy, He allows them to undergo the final stage of purification in Purgatory. Purgatory is the secret of Grace, not punishment or the wrath of God. It is love, ultimately, that Catholics pray for the dead. Our prayers can help them a lot, and to obtain the many graces heaven for them, so that they can finally get rid of Purgatory and enjoy the Eternal vision of God in His kingdom when He lives and reigns as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever.
